The Little Lambs Preschool Ministry exists to provide quality care and instruction for young children (birth through five years) while their parents attend Worship and Bible Study classes.

We seek to establish a healthy and loving environment that helps your child develop a belonging to his/her church family and to feel welcome and safe.

Our mission is to introduce young children to the most important person they could ever know – Jesus Christ.

First Time Guests

We want your first Little Lambs experience to be a great one! We are delighted to have your child join our Little Lambs! We pray regularly for each child and their families. As a first-time guest, you are encouraged to tour our facilities with the Little Lambs Director. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. It is always a good idea to arrive early when checking in a child to the nurseries. This allows time for registration/sign in and gives both parent and child a few moments to adjust to the transition. We use the KidMin app for signing children in and out of class. Please download and register each of your nursery aged children. Please sign your children in using the KidMin app before each service and pick up your labels in the Welcome Center.

When possible, we use cell phones to contact parents while away from their child. Please note your cell phone number on the registration and all sign-ins–then set your phone to “vibrate” during the service. Please label all of your child’s belongings (bottles, cups, pacifier, diapers, jackets, etc). Remember to provide adequate supplies of diapers, wipes, formula, foods and a change of clothing for infants and toddlers. Your child may cry when left with us. This is a normal, healthy show of preference for parents. His/her fussing will usually stop within a few minutes and become less common with regular attendance. A hug and good-bye followed by a quick exit allows your child to adjust more rapidly. If your child cannot be consoled within a reasonable amount of time, we will send for you!

Remember:

  • Arrive early
  • Complete registration
  • Label all belongings
  • Make a quick exit
  • Return soon for pick-up
  • Only adults may pick-up

Regular Check-In Procedures

Now that you’ve been with us before… There are still a few parental responsibilities that help keep our ministry running smoothly!

Arrive early for sign-in. Please sign your children in using the KidMin app before each service and pick up your labels in the Welcome Center.

In order to avoid disruption and confusion, and to maintain a safe environment, we ask that parents refrain from entering the child care rooms. Please drop off and pick up children at the door.

Please do not revisit your child once they are dropped offf (with the exception of nursing mothers.) One tearful good-bye is all a little one should be expected to endure! This can also place additional burden on staff to again calm your child.

We ask that you courteously pick up your child immediately following the Worship Service or Bible study class. Your child will be delivered to you by a Little Lambs staff member in order to maintain an orderly pick-up transition period – please wait patiently if necessary.

Children will be released to adult parent/guardian only. Please do not send siblings or friends. Remember to keep sick children at home!

Health Standards

The health and well being of your child is important to us. The Little Lambs staff provides a clean and healthy environment. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized each day. Crib sheets are changed and washed after each use. Cribs, changing tables and toys are wiped down with an antibacterial solution. During diaper changes, rubber gloves are worn and discarded. After each diaper change, hands are washed and tables are sprayed with an antibacterial solution.

To protect the health of all our children, we ask you to keep your child at home if you observe any of the following within the last 24 hours:

  • Fever, diarrhea, or vomiting within the past 24 hours
  • Discharge in or around the eyes
  • Excessive coughing or sneezing
  • Any questionable rash
  • Any communicable disease

During COVID-19, we ask you to keep your children home if anyone in you has exhibited these symptoms: fever, fatigue, headache, cough, nasal congestion, loss of taste or smell, or sore throat. All staff, volunteers, and children will have their temperature taken and hands sanitized prior to entering Children’s Center. Little Lambs staff will follow the same guidelines with regard to their health. If your child is discovered to be ill during any of the services, you will be contacted immediately.

Early Self-Discipline Training

A Plan to Follow…
A time to play, a time to pray.
A time to listen, a time to learn.
A time to sing, a time to serve.

According to Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, we know that God has established a season for everything. Knowing that, we believe there is a time to play with children, a time for praying to God, a time to listen and learn from His Word, a time to worship our Heavenly Father, and a time to apply what we have learned by serving others. In order to provide the children with a safe and loving environment, the following self-discipline training plan will be in effect at all times to consistently teach our children appropriate behaviors for appropriate times. Please discuss these rules and consequences with your child as you prepare them to attend church.

Our Classroom Rules

  • Sharing is Important: Do not forget to do good to others. Share with them what you have. (Hebrews 13:16)
  • No Running: We are allowed to do all things–yes, but not all things are good for us to do. (1 Corinthians 10:23)
  • Use Inside Voices: It is good and pleasant when God’s people live together in peace. (Psalm 133:1)
  • Keep Hands and Feet to Self: Be kind to others. (Ephesians 4:32)
  • Use Listening Ears and Follow Directions: There is a time to be silent and there is a time to speak. (Ecclesiastes 3:7)
  • Do Not Leave the Room without Permission.

Consequences: There are standard consequences when children do not follow the stated classroom rules. These consequences are as follows:

  • 1st Time: Verbal reminder of the rule(s) given.
  • 2nd Time: Age-appropriate time-out in a time-out chair given.
  • 3rd Time: Time-out chair and take away privilege.
  • 4th Time: Parents will be notified to pick up child.

It is rare that children get to the fourth infraction of the rules. Our childcare staff and teachers make every effort to re-direct children to appropriate activities and behaviors and seek to work with parents as a team. We want all of our children to be successful, regular members of their classes!

Ministry Team

Our Little Lambs Ministry is staffed by competent, loving servants who have trusted Christ as their Savior and desire to share the love of Jesus with your child. We ask that all parents of nursery-age children volunteer to help in our Little Lambs Ministry. As a member, once you register your child in the Little Lambs nursery, we will place you on the monthly volunteer list according to your available service time. A monthly ministry appointment requires you to serve only one hour a month! If you are able and willing to serve more frequently, please let us know by contacting the church office. You will be blessed!
